Betley Court Fire - Five Years On

August 24, 2024
Five years after a disasterous fire that destroyed Betley Court, an afternoon event looking at the rebuild journey for the Brown family. Join Nigel and Su from the Brown family, owners of Betley Court to look back on the events of 23rd August 2019, when this grade II* listed Georgian gem burned to the ground during roofing repairs. The couple will discuss the events of the night, and the complex task the family have taken to return the house to its former glory. The talk will last approximatly 40 minutes with slides and questions. It is the last time the Browns host an event in the main house. Complimentary beverage and cake availale afterwards in the visitors hub. Guests are welcome to enjoy a display of photographs in the Nash Room, and walk around the gardens afterwards until gates close at 5.30pm Please arrive 15-20 minutes before your talk slot starts to take your seat, as talks start promptly. The talk is being hosted in an active construction site, so stout footwear is recommeneded due to uneven surfaces. Please get in touch if you have specific access needs and we'll see how we can help.
