Betley Court Daffodil Talk & Walk day 1

Join us and find out more about our beautiful daffodils and the gardens of Betley Court - it's gonna be bloomin' lovely!Betley Court Daffodil Talk & Walk day 1 Join Nigel and Su of the Brown family for a presentation about the Victorian collection of daffodils and accompany them for a walk around the grounds of Betley Court. They'll introducing some of the different species of daffs, and talking about some of the spring interest and the history of the gardens. The ten-acre gardens date from 1716, and range from formal borders to woodland walk around a pond. This is a garden at the beginning of a revival. The house (not part of this event) was destroyed in 2019 by fire, and is being rebuilt by the owners, the Brown family. Talk and walk last 1-1.5 hours. Comlementary hot drinks and bisuits in the visitors hub after. Gates open till 5pm. Stout footwear recommended and walk includes uneven and steep terrain. Please dress appropriately for the weather!

Daffodil Open Garden day 1

The gates are open at Betley Court Gardens! Come and explore our ten-acres of gardens during daffodil season.Join Nigel and Su from the Brown family as they open the gardens of Betley Court during daffodils season. This is a garden at the beginning of its revival. Dating from 1716, the gardens were the pleasure grounds to generations of local squires, until 1948 when Betley Court became a Red Cross hospital and then a rehabilitation centre for orthapeadic injuries. Notable landscape gardeners William Emes and William Barron contributed to the garden design. Explore 10-acres of gardens, ranging from formal flowerbeds, to a woodland walk around the dingle and pond. Complimentary hot drinks and biscuits available at the visiotrs hub. Children under 15 FREE. NB: paths are gravel and turf and steep in places. Dogs on leads welcome.
