Oxeye Daisies

Leucanthemum vulgare

Oxeye daisies are at their best at this time of year. Our daisies were a gift from the Alsager Wildlife Initiative, and they have settled well in the woodland margins. They are prized as a cheerful flower. The yellow centre of each flower is, in fact a cluster of tiny, necter-filled flowers that insects love too.

The fish pond

On a warm, the fish pond down in the Dingle is perfect for enjoying nature.

Broadleafed woodland

The broadleaf woodland at Betley Court is in full leaf by midsummer. The woodland is hundreds of years old, and has been described as a great example of a complex ecological habitat.

Daffodils in Bloom

The daffodils are out at Betley Court Gardens! We believe there are four of the five cultivars popularised by Victorian plantsman and daffodil enthuiast Peter Barr, the 'Daffodil King of Tooting' naturalised around the gardens. They include the fragrant 'Mrs Langtry' scented daffodil.
